|Very rare vintage all original 1969 HAMILTON/BUREN CHRONO-MATIC calibre 11 is the "First" automatic chronograph co-developed with movement manufacturer Buren for only a couple of years is in excellent all original condition. This extremely rare panda dial has the original and rare applied Buren 'red dot' at the 3 minute marker of the 30 minute register which signifies the earlier cal 11 - One explanation from swiss Heinz Rengel is that in the 50s & 60s the swiss telephone company charged phone calls in 3 minute increments (3-6-9) so a lot of chronograph dials during this time period showed these 3 minute markings on the minute totalizers thus the 'red dot' is used as the telephone timer to time calls. Another thought is that Hamilton may have released a few Chrono-matics under the Buren name in Europe and this particular dial was never released in the U.S. market which makes this extremely rare.
